Abstract
One of the weaknesses of students in Science subject is solving worded problems. The study was conducted using DepEd TV for distance learning to enhance the problem-solving abilities of Grade 9 Science students. It involved a total of (15) students which were selected through purposive sampling technique from Macarang National High School of S.Y. 2021-2022.
A quasi-experimental design was used in the study to investigate the difference of scores in pretest and posttest. The collected data were analyzed using paired samples t-test and computed mean. The findings showed that the problem-solving skills of Grade 9 Science learners enhanced in terms of their mean scores from 14.33 in pretest to 21.20 in posttest. Overall, this showed that the mean scores of the learners before and after the implementation of the intervention was statistically significant, p-value 0.000. This means that in Grade 9 Science lessons on uniform accelerated motion and projectiles, students exhibit higher levels of problem-solving abilities after using DepEd TV.
It is suggested therefore that Science teachers are encouraged to utilize DepEd TV Episodes as a potential tool for the students to perform well in solving worded problems particularly for distance learning.
