Abstract
Social protection programs have been successful in lowering poverty and increasing household resilience all across the world, especially in rural areas. This study investigates the relationship between government subsidies, specifically the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and educational aid, and household resilience in Kananga, Leyte. Utilizing a descriptive-correlational design, the study surveyed 50 selected beneficiaries to determine the impact of subsidies on key resilience indicators: food security, educational continuity, and healthcare access. Findings show a strong positive correlation between the frequency/type of subsidy received and the level of household resilienceThe study highlights the vital role of targeted government assistance in reducing poverty and strengthening adaptive capacity in rural areas. It emphasizes how consistent intervention, including financial aid with conditions like school attendance and health check-ups, promotes sustainable and robust community development. The findings aim to guide local policymakers in designing effective subsidy programs, especially amid rising climate risks and economic instability. Households with regular support are better prepared for crises, reinforcing national development goals and contributing to broader discussions on resilience through social policy and resource allocation.
