ABSTRACT
Speaking was one of the most important skills to cultivate and improve to communicate effectively. One of the most difficult aspects of language learning was speaking ability. Many language learners had difficulty expressing themselves verbally. They were generally having difficulty effectively expressing themselves in a foreign language. They stopped talking because they were confronted with psychological obstacles or were unable to find appropriate words and expressions. The modern world of media and mass communication necessitated fluency in spoken English.
The purpose of this paper was to demonstrate the importance of focusing on the factors that influence language learners' English-speaking ability. Like many other intervention activities planned that helped to improve the public speaking of the students. The researcher came up with the four factors affecting the speaking skills of the students namely: Personal Traits, Academic Foundation, Environmental Factors, and Vocabulary Development. The proposed intervention activity plan is as follows: Seminars, Project-Based Learning, and Interactive Instructions have been applied to many different learning in Public Speaking.
This paper was derived from an in-depth study of the Grade 12 HUMSS Students in ICCT Colleges Foundation Inc. using Data Collection. It presented the findings from one of the methods used that elaborated the effectiveness of the researcher-selected intervention activity plan to the respondents.
