I. INTRODUCTION
The use of digital technology has greatly impacted the methods used in the recruitment and selection of candidates in various agencies in the Philippine government. The traditional method which is slow due to its cumbersome nature has been replaced by digital platforms and electronic databases. With such developments, the job openings can be advertised easily, applications made with ease, and effective communication established with the applicant. Efforts have been spearheaded by the Civil Service Commission and the Department of Information and Communications Technology.
Further proof of these advantages is also evident through local Philippine research. According to (Dela Cruz, 2021), there were faster processing times and greater participation of candidates within the recruitment process of LGU’s digital recruitment system, while (Santos & Reyes, 2020) highlighted how the employment opportunities became more transparent as these job postings became accessible and favored no one. (Garcia, 2022) even noted that automated systems led to better matching of applicants with the job position’s needs.
But there are some problems, such as inequalities in the use of technology, low digital literacy, and issues regarding data privacy. It is important to adhere to the Data Privacy Act of 2012. In this research, it will be discussed how digitalization affects government recruitment.
