Abstract
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has become an essential component of modern education, transforming traditional teaching and learning practices by enhancing access to information, promoting collaboration, and improving student engagement. This study examined the impact of ICT on the teaching-learning process and learning outcomes at Magcaraguit Elementary School. Specifically, it investigated the demographic profile of the respondents, their perceptions of the impact of ICT on learning outcomes, the challenges encountered in ICT integration, and the benefits experienced from the use of technology in education.
A quantitative research design was employed using a survey questionnaire administered to 31 respondents composed of teachers and students from Magcaraguit Elementary School. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical tools, including percentage and weighted mean, to determine the respondents’ perceptions and experiences regarding ICT integration in education.
T he findings revealed that respondents generally perceived ICT as having a positive influence on learning outcomes, particularly in increasing student motivation, engagement, confidence, and technical skills. However, the results also indicated that the impact of ICT on academic performance and critical thinking skills was moderate. The study further identified several challenges affecting ICT integration, including insufficient internet connectivity, software difficulties, limited training on ICT tools, hardware compatibility issues, and inadequate technical support. Despite these challenges, ICT was found to provide significant benefits, such as more engaging learning experiences, improved research capabilities, better time management, and increased access to educational resources.
The study recommends strengthening ICT integration through improved technological infrastructure, reliable internet connectivity, continuous professional development for teachers, and greater student participation in ICT-supported learning activities.
