ABSTRACT
This study wants to determine what leadership styles the Department Heads of Masbate City Local Government practices. The Department Heads answered a self-assessment questionnaire. Researchers also asked them questions and watched how they worked. The study included all 21 Department Heads. The main leadership styles they used were consultative (asking other people for ideas) and transformational (helping people change and improve). They used these styles very often. All styles were rated as effective or very effective. Consultative leadership was rated the best.
The biggest problem was a poor internet connection. This problem was "moderately serious." To improve things, most Department Heads suggested better internet, better office equipment, and more training for staff. Most Department Heads were men. Many were over 51 years old and married. Most had a bachelor's degree in Political Science, Mass Communication, or Accountancy. Almost half thought their own performance was outstanding.
These results can help make good programs to help leaders grow and make the LGU better.
