Introduction
Early childhood education provides the foundation for children’s later academic, social, and emotional development. In kindergarten, learners begin to develop essential literacy and numeracy competencies through play, interaction, exploration, and guided instruction. At the same time, digital technologies are increasingly present in children’s homes and schools. This development creates opportunities for teachers to enrich learning but also raises important questions concerning screen time, access, teacher competence, and developmentally appropriate practice.
The integration of technology in kindergarten should not be understood simply as the use of tablets, interactive boards, or educational applications. Rather, it involves a transformation in how teachers design learning experiences, assess children’s progress, communicate with families, and respond to individual differences. Teachers are therefore not only classroom instructors but also leaders of pedagogical change.
